The parcel of Les Pougets is substantial at over 7.5 acres, and is divided between red Corton from the lower section and white Corton-Charlemagne above. The entire vineyard is steeply sloped with thin stony soils and a direct South orientation. These red wines are dense and complex, demanding years of aging to reach full potential. Interestingly, Jadot is the sole remaining producer of red Corton-Pougets and it is an idelible part of the Jadot legacy.

Harvest Note
Winter and early Spring were unusually warm and dry however March brought much-needed rainfall which led to homogenous flowering in May. Stormy weather in June was followed by mild late summer, and an unusual September heat wave. Harvest was finished on September 16th, and by picking only in the cool morning hours freshness was preserved.
Tasting Note
Corton red wines are typically full-bodied with firm structure, dark berry fruit with earth nuances, and savory tannins. These are wines which reward patience, as the initial austerity refines and unfolds to reveal subtle floral and spice notes and an impressively long finish.
