Jadot is fortunate to be one of only 5 owners of this unique Premier Cru terroir. The Jadot parcel is 2.47 acres (1 hectare) and stretches from the top of the slope to the bottom, allowing for a perfect balance of soil characteristics. This slope is north of the Gevrey "combe" or slight valley, with full Southeast exposure. Soils range from thin with limestone pebbles at the upper slope, to dense red clay at the base. This vineyard is revered for wine quality and longevity and regarded as a shadow Grand Cru.

Harvest Note
2023 was a hot and dry growing season which was saved by significant rain in June. This allowed the vines to withstand summer heat and drought and led to ideal sanitary conditions and a modest yield yet concentrated vintage.
Tasting Note
This full-bodied dry red wine reflects the classic Gevrey "power tempered with elegance" motif. Initial aromas tend toward bing cherry, mahogany, ground espresso and mocha. There are chewy tannins soon after release, which resolve over time in the cellar, and produce a wine that matches well with a variety of protein forms.

About the Grape

Pinot Noir
In France, makes a silky, deceptively powerful wine of elegant, complex aromas and subtle, red fruit flavors, with earthy, floral, mushroom and mineral notes. In California, shows ripe, sweet characters.
