Grapes come from vines that grow on the hillside of Apalta. This is a Carménère with a ripe character and lovely acidity. Aromas of berry jam join cinnamon, nutmeg and peppercorn on the nose. The palate is silky and fruity, with nice notes of cranberry sauce and red plum. Sweet spices add an extra layer of flavor

Lime and yeasty notes form the fragrant bouquet. This wine has weight and the creamy texture carries honey-drizzle lime, mango and vanilla bean. Flavors are balanced due to lively acidity

The 2022 Morgon offers a mixture of red and black fruit on the nose, leaning toward the latter with aeration, nicely defined if just in need of more personality. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent, ripe tannins, fleshy and well-balanced. Hints of orange rind and cassis emerge toward a finish with the sapidity to tempt you back for another sip. Well-made. Drink it over four to six years.

The 2022 Moulin-à-Vent has a sapid, marine-tinged bouquet, hints of shucked oyster shell infusing the dark berry fruit. Fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly furry tannins, spicier than the Morgon, with a little more edginess and pepperiness on the finish. Very fine.

Moulin a Vent Clos de Rochegres 2022

The 2022 Moulin-à-Vent Clos de Rochegrès has more complexity on the nose compared to the regular cuvée: more floral, iris flower scents filtering through the dark berry fruit, and hints of iodine. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins. It’s fleshy, but right at the finish, it is a tad sweeter than I would like, lacking a bit of sapidity and tension. Near, yet not quite there! That said, it remains a decent Moulin-à-Vent that will benefit from a couple of years in bottle.
