Youthful and tight, ripe damson and red cherry fruit. Good complexity with beautiful balance and an earthy, mineral finish.
A deep youthful garnet color, the 2020 Barolo Cerequio is lifted and savory with notes of tobacco, mint, dried cherries, and peppery spices. Medium-bodied, it has a nicely balanced and approachable feel on the palate, with ripe tannins, a weightless feel, and an elegant ripeness of sweet fruit evenly balanced throughout. It retains nice freshness and is going to drink well now or over the next 5-6 years.
A rich red color, the 2021 Barbaresco Asili is lifted with mint aromas of medicinal herbs, dried cherries, anise, and spices. Medium-bodied, it has balanced intensity on the palate, with angular structure and good ripeness throughout. As it opens, it becomes more rosy and floral, and it’s zesty with notes of blood orange, saline, and dusty earth, as well as a lovely mineral texture through its rather long finish. I like this one more than I initially thought. Drink it over the next 10 years.
Pretty hazelnut and chocolate complexity to the ripe red and dark berry fruit. It’s rich and juicy with a medium body and a broad, ripe tannin frame. Deep and delicious.
Meaty and smoky undertones to this rich and full-bodied Moulin-a-Vent. Swathes of dark berry fruit, mocha and spice box are wrapped up in firm and chalky tannins. Long and powerful
