The wine is raised in twenty percent new oak and comes in at an even 13.5 percent alcohol in this vintage. It delivers a lovely aromatic constellation of red and black cherries, black plums, bitter chocolate, woodsmoke, a lovely touch of fresh thyme, a fine base of dark soil tones and a nice touch of cedary oak. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied and complex, with a fine core of black fruit, good soil undertow and grip, ripe tannins, tangy acids and a long, focused and very nicely balanced finish.
