Very generous wood and menthol elements suffuse the pretty essence of red currant and violet aromas. The delicious, punchy and sleekly muscular flavors coat the palate with sappy dry extract while displaying fine length on the balanced and lightly mineral-inflected finale. Lovely and understated.
Bursting with aromas of cherries, berries, licorice and rose petals, the 2018 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Sentiers (Maison Louis Jadot) is medium to full-bodied, succulent and fine-boned, with lively acids, a pretty core of expressive fruit and a saline finish.
The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Les Sentiers 1er Cru has quite an exotic bouquet, the red cherry and crushed strawberry fruit mingling with kirsch and blood orange aromas and a touch of coconut emerging with aeration. The generous palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins.
The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Les Sentiers 1er Cru has a fresh bouquet of perfumed blackberry, bilberry, Seville orange marmalade and damson aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and quite grippy in the mouth, displaying touches of marmalade, sage and dried fig that infuse the black fruit. I like the density and character of this Les Sentiers.
Strong wood/menthol influence all but overshadows the underlying plum, spice and discreet anise wisps. As would be reasonably expected there is more size, weight and power to the solidly concentrated medium weight plus flavors that display fine length on the robust and muscular finish. This is very Sentiers.
