This is aromatically quite similar to the Pucelles save for a dollop of wood spice. There is a plush mouthfeel to the slightly bigger and richer but just as refined medium-bodied flavors that possess good energy on the equally well-balanced and lingering finish. In the same vein as the Pucelles, the 2019 BBM is exceptionally stylish.

Offering up aromas of pear, smoke, baking spices and buttered toast, the 2019 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru (Maison Louis Jadot) is medium to full-bodied, layered and compact.

The palate is well balanced with a lightly spiced opening, and honeyed in style, offering notes of passion fruit, rhubarb and ginger toward the finish. Very pleasant to drink.

This is aromatically quite similar to the Pucelles with perhaps just a bit more emphasis on the honeysuckle nuances. There is excellent volume to the relatively powerful larger-scaled flavors that retain good refinement and particularly so on the lingering and beautifully balanced finale. This is a big wine in the context of what is typical for BBM, yet it carries the extra weight gracefully.

Aromas of waxy citrus rind, marzipan, white flowers and warm pastry introduce the 2018 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru (Maison Louis Jadot), a full-bodied, ample and enveloping wine that’s layered, textural and lively, concluding with a nicely defined finish.
