This is perhaps the most floral-suffused nose in the entire range with its array of violet, lavender, rose petal and peony adding considerable elegance to the cool aromas of spicy red berries and jasmine tea. The wonderfully refined and highly energetic middle weight flavors brim with minerality while flashing solid power on the gorgeously long, balanced and classy finish. This is seriously lovely.
A perfumed, incipiently complex wine that bursts with aromas of orange rind, rose petals, cherries, plums and warm spices. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and layered, with lively acids and rich structuring tannins, it’s a beautiful wine.
The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses Premier Cru has a wonderful bouquet featuring white pepper and clove aromas. The fresh, vibrant palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins, white pepper and a touch of garrigue. It feels elegant and refined, not powerful or enormously long.
Moderately generous wood and menthol influences are present on the very spicy, cool and agreeably airy red berry fruit-inflected nose. The sleek, succulent and gorgeously detailed middle weight flavors exude a lovely minerality that adds a sense of lift to the dusty, serious and firmly structured finish that goes on and on. This is exceptionally classy and quite stylish as well.
Bursting with aromas of raspberries, cinnamon, orange rind, rose petals and musk, it’s full-bodied, ample and succulent, with terrific depth at the core, lively acids and a long, perfumed finish. This is one of the finest wines in the portfolio this year.
