The 2019 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru (Maison Louis Jadot) bursts with aromas of loamy soil, blackberries, dark chocolate, spices and grilled meats. Medium to full-bodied, round and fleshy, with chewy tannins and a generous core of fruit, it’s a hearty, rather old-fashioned red Burgundy.
The supple, round and caressing middle weight flavors offer good length and a certain class.
The 2018 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru (Maison Louis Jadot) offers up a pure, fruit-driven bouquet of ripe cherries and berries. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, ample and open-knit, with an expressive, generous profile.
The 2018 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a clean, precise bouquet with subtle violet aromas infusing the blackberry and cassis fruit. The palate is ripe and sensual on the opening, slightly lower in acidity compared to the other Grand Crus, but undeniably harmonious and velvety-smooth toward the finish. This is a classy, almost understated Charmes-Chambertin. Very fine.
This is the first vintage from a vineyard purchased by Louis Jadot. Its structure and touches of wood give it richness while never losing the fresh apple flavors and mineral texture.
