The 2020 Pouilly-Fuissé Les Ménétrières 1er Cru, a blend of three parcels (marl, limestone, and clay soils intermixed), has the most complex bouquet amongst Ferret’s 2020s. Lovely chamomile and crushed stone scents, a touch of orange blossom, though still a little backward. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, taut and fresh, lemon verbena and a hint of stem ginger towards the persistent finish. Superb.
