This has a sophisticated array of nutmeg, burdock, cassis and cocoa nib aromas. It’s medium-bodied and full of flavor, with firm and polished tannins framing the spicy dark fruit.
This wine is full, ripe and structured, with tannins still playing an important part. It is dense and powerful, with layers of black fruits and texture.
Complex nose of autumn bonfires, wet earth and wild blackberries. On the medium-bodied palate the restrained tannins, mineral freshness, berry and sour cherry fruit fit together very neatly. Plenty of red beet complexity at the long, moderately dry and savory finish.
A highlight of this year’s range is the 2020 Moulin-à-Vent Clos des Thorins, a full-bodied, layered and vibrant wine of notable completeness and harmony. Delivering attractive aromas of cherries, mulberries, rose petals, sweet spices, licorice and soil, it’s refined and penetrating, concluding with a saline finish. This is a seamless, elegant wine, despite the warmth and power of the vintage, and it will be worth following over several decades.
Bright violet. Spicy and sharply focused on the nose, displaying juicy red and dark berry and floral aromas and a hint of exotic spices. Seamless and appealingly sweet, offering intense black raspberry, cherry liqueur, lavender and spicecake flavors underscored by a vein of juicy acidity. Powerful yet energetic in style, delivering firm closing grip, polished tannins and repeating cherry and spice notes.
