The 2021 Rosso di Montalcino opens with a dark and herbal-tinged mix of musky wild berries and cedar shavings. It’s pleasantly sweet upon entry, with cooling acidity and ripe red and blue fruits that swirl throughout. This tapers off long and staining, leaving a licorice tinge and hints of blackberry preserve that slowly fade. The 2021 takes the taster on a journey, starting like a whisper but gaining volume and momentum toward the close. The end result is quite pleasurable.

Medium pale red. Very floral nuances mark primary fruit aromas on the nose. Then sweet and fresh on the palate, with good texture and tension to the flavors of red berries, flint and violet. Finishes juicy and long. Lovely Rosso.

Medium ruby color with a spicy nose; silky, bright, and crisp on the palate. A baby Brunello with character and style that’s equal parts fresh, lively, and totally charming.
