The 2021 Rosso di Montalcino opens with a dark and herbal-tinged mix of musky wild berries and cedar shavings. It’s pleasantly sweet upon entry, with cooling acidity and ripe red and blue fruits that swirl throughout. This tapers off long and staining, leaving a licorice tinge and hints of blackberry preserve that slowly fade. The 2021 takes the taster on a journey, starting like a whisper but gaining volume and momentum toward the close. The end result is quite pleasurable.
