This wine’s silken concentration and grace make it compellingly delicious. Here, the plump white-peach sweetness is powered by the drive of the savory pinot-gris tannins. That combination lasts with a freshness I remembered a day after tasting it, making me want the bottle back.

Broad and creamy, this medium-bodied white features a silky palate of baked pear and apricot fruit, orange peel, honeysuckle and blanched almond flavors, backed by sleek, well-knit acidity. Minerally notes of smoke and stone play on the creamy finish.

Fruit concentration is apparent from the first whiff of this wine. Russet-pear peel seems charged with lemon rind and an aromatic edge of licorice. The palate relaxes into freshness kissed by a gentle, rounding sweetness. Flavors convey concentration and a sense of seriousness despite that dollop of sugar. The finish is almost dry and exquisitely balanced.
