Pungent and more floral aromas offer up plenty of lemon, petrol and rosemary oil nuances. There is both better volume and refinement to the medium-bodied flavors that possess unusually good power for Embazées on the lemony, balanced and sneaky long finale.
The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Embazées (Maison Louis Jadot) is showing nicely, exhibiting aromas of smoky pear, green apple, white flowers and blanched almonds. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, with chalky structuring extract and tangy acids, this is shaping up especially well.
A more elegant and slightly cooler mix of apple, pear, citrus rind and soft resin wisps gives way to nicely rich and voluminous flavors that possess a seductive texture. Lovely.
The palate is very well balanced, with a fine bead of acidity cutting through the intense orange zest and passion fruit notes. There is a palpable and enticing sense of harmony to this Chassagne, and a slight nuttiness develops on the finish. Excellent.
From a newly purchased vineyard, this wine is taut and textured while also having intense fruits. Acidity and freshness are balanced by hints of apricot and pineapple.
