A luscious and decadent old tawny, this wine has incorporated its fruit into a textural sensation of figs and plum paste, red plum skin tannins firming it up. There’s heady banana-bread richness to the flavor, enriched with barrel tones, the wine saturated and long lasting.

Traditionally the preserve of Portuguese-owned houses, colheita has been colonised by Taylor’s after its takeover of Krohn in 2013; just 2,000 bottles of this were made. Lifted caramel aromas with a hint of butterscotch. Suave, rich, spicy flavours – quite sweet but stops just short of cloying on the finish. Supremely fresh, delicate length. Remarkable wine at 50 years old.

The palate is smooth and honeyed on the entry, a very seductive Port wine, quite sumptuous in style, but with enough volatile lift to maintain fieriness toward the viscous finish.

The first of a series of 50-year-old wines to be released over the next several years, is not blended but rather is drawn from a single barrel and exhibits an exhilarating profile of dried strawberries, orange peel, toasted walnuts, curry, and wild sage.

Poised between amazing fruit and a wonderful velvet texture that is shot through with acidity. A feeling of lightness comes from the acidity that gives great freshness as well as complex flavors.
