Aromas of sweet strawberries, cherries, plums and licorice introduce the 2021 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Couchereaux (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot), a medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy wine built around powdery tannins that assert themselves on the finish.
A dense version, offering cherry, black currant, floral and mineral aromas and flavors. Delivering tannins that mesh well with the fleshy character, this remains balanced and persistent. The long finish echoes the fruit.
This is aromatically quite similar to the Theurons with perhaps just a bit more earth influence. There is again fine volume and intensity to the denser and more powerful medium-bodied plus flavors that coat the palate with dry extract on the very firm and impressively long finish.
Scents of cassis, rose petals, orange rind and red berries preface the 2019 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Couchereaux (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot), a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping wine that’s lively and mouthwatering. Ample and generous, this will offer a broad drinking window.
The palate is medium-bodied with with fine tannins and a keen bead of acidity. This is very elegant and shows impressive poise toward the finish. A delicious Beaune in the making.
