An opulent white, with a creamy texture enveloping butterscotch, pineapple and vanilla flavors.
Here too the nose is cool and restrained with its appealingly layered aromas of white peach, passion fruit, lemon zest and soft acacia nuances. There is fine intensity to the medium weight flavors that terminate in a sappy, balanced and lingering finale.
A perfumed, softly spicy floral and petrol-scented nose is trimmed in discreet oak. There is good drive and an abundance of minerality on the detailed middle weight flavors that adds a sense of lift to the clean, dry and firm finale.
Notes of pear, hazelnuts, white flowers, yellow apple and buttered toast introduce the 2019 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Referts (Domaine Louis Jadot), a medium to full-bodied, layered and textural wine that’s mineral and incisive, with bright acids and a saline finish. This is promising.
