Menthol and all but imperceptible wood sets off the elegant and pure essence of red cherry, raspberry and soft spice nuances. The equally elegant and refined middle weight flavors that are both rich and seductive, all wrapped in a firm finale that is solidly long and complex.

An elegant, pure and pretty nose features notes of violet, various red berries and a whiff of oak toast. The supple, round and generously proportioned medium weight flavors possess an attractive mid-palate texture that contrasts mildly with the dusty and firm finish.

The 2018 Beaune Les Bressandes 1er Cru has a fragrant, floral, incense-infused bouquet of blood orange and light marmalade scents. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins matched by fine acidity, pure fruit and well-judged acidity, leading to a creamy, dark-chocolate-tinged finish. Excellent.

Rich, with black cherry and plum flavors matching the burly tannins. A streak of vibrant acidity carries the long, earth- and spice-tinged finish.

The palate is medium-bodied with gentle grip on the entry, good body and weight, and a nicely structured, focused, fresh finish. There is a sense of ease and nonchalance about this Les Bressandes that is appealing.
