Lush and rich, velvety and pure, deep and juicy, long and stylish.

The 2019 Pouilly-Fuissé Tête de Cru Le Clos offers up notions of pear, crisp stone fruit, mirabelle plum and praline. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and precise, with a bright, tightly wound core of fruit, tangy acids and a long, sapient finish, this has turned out very well.

A deft application of wood sets off softly spicy and ripe essence of apple, acacia blossom and citrus hints. There is again both good volume and richness to the tender, caressing and delicious medium-bodied flavors that terminate in a textured and more persistent and slightly more complex finale.

Domaine Ferret farms these vines between its cellar and the church of Fuissé, 1.65 acres, half of which are more than 40 years old, the other half 20. The topsoil is thin, sending the vine roots directly into limestone and shale, creating a firm and powerful Pouilly-Fuissé. This vintage is structured, building on its buttercream richness with depths of mineral and grape-skin savor.
