Pretty hazelnut and chocolate complexity to the ripe red and dark berry fruit. It’s rich and juicy with a medium body and a broad, ripe tannin frame. Deep and delicious.
The potential of this solid, dense wine is enormous. With rich black fruits and dense concentration, it has a fine future.
This svelte, meaty red has good depth, with a dense core of mulled cherry, black plum and anise draped in an earthy layer of tobacco leaf, lightly toasted cedar and charred garrigue.
The deep blueberry nose pulls you into this remarkably ripe and beautifully balanced 2021 Moulin-a-Vent that has what we look for in single-vineyard wines from this appellation. Gentle entry, then plenty of fine tannins at the long, velvety finish where there’s some crushed stone minerality.
The 2020 Moulin-à-Vent Clos de Rochegrès unwinds in the glass with scents of cherries, cassis, dark berries, sweet soil tones and spices. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, it’s bright and seamless, with powdery tannins, lively acids and a saline finish. It’s less ethereal than the 2019 without being as muscular as the 2018, striking a nice balance.
