Blueberries, dark cherries, wet earth and some ash on the nose. It’s tight and firm on the palate with sturdy tannins and a medium to full body. Firm and meaty. Drink or hold.
This ruby colored Beaujolais from the Morgon commune opens with a black raspberry, black cherry, and cigar box bouquet with hints of loam and strawberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and very juicy. The flavor profile is a tasty red currant and cherry blend with notes of gentle loam and saline. I also detected hints of oak and juicy red plum. The finish is dry and its dusty tannins build-up nicely and stick around for quite a while.
This wine is ripe, full of black fruits and rich tannins. It is young, the berry flavors bursting with energy through the firm structure. The wine needs aging, so drink from 2025
Intensely herbal with plenty of savory character, plus wild strawberry and blackcurrant pastille aromas. This is a crisp and compact Morgon with plenty of drive at the refreshing finish
Notions of cherries, berry compote, sweet soil tones and smoke introduce the 2020 Morgon, a medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy wine with lively acids, melting tannins and a saline finish. As usual, it’s derived largely from Corcelette, which accounts for its rather charming profile.
