Its aromatics and flavors are wonderfully complex even while this manages to be surprisingly fresh. It has fine tension on the finish and the flavors linger endlessly.
The palate has a wonderful viscous entry with generous honeyed fruit infused with allspice, orange rind, marjoram and cloves. The finish has a sense of completeness and superb weight. This gorgeous tawny cannot fail to satisfy even the most demanding palate.
This wine seems to hold onto the memory of a younger age-it still has a hint of jasmine and a fruit character, like apricot, here transformed into something closer to apricot cream. The flavors are broad and rich, still firm and gripping, though with the gentle power of an elder. A golden treat to extend an evening.
Slightly darker than the Taylor 40. Beautiful old nose of treacle, butterscotch, celery seed. Very complex.
