Pale ruby-purple in color, it leaps from the glass with vivacious redcurrant jelly, black raspberries and rhubarb scents plus touches of wild thyme, cloves, rose hip tea and underbrush. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a firm structure of chewy tannins and lovely freshness defining the red berry and earthy layers, finishing with an herbal lift.
This ruby colored Pinot Noir from Cakebread is consistently very good. The 2016 vintage opens with a funky strawberry bouquet with hints of lavender and wet straw. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and delicate. The flavor profile is a mild minerality and strawberry blend with notes of cherry and hints of graphite. The finish is dry and fades away nicely.
The 2016 Two Creeks Vineyards Pinot Noir from Cakebread Cellars comes from two of their estate vineyards, 66% Annahala and the rest from Apple Barn. It has a beautiful bouquet, with aromas of dark cherry, red berries, sweet spice, loam, toasted oak and acacia flowers. On the palate this is has a dense, ripe core with delicious dark and red berries along with pomegranate, and plum flavors.
This dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Cakebread is very good! It opens a pleasant mulberry and wild strawberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied, nicely balanced, smooth and a little juicy. The flavor profile is a very tasty black raspberry with notes of mulberry, black plum and gentle minerality.
