This wine starts with aromatic notes of red apples and pear that set the stage for a flavorful palate. It’s fresh and has a slightly creamy texture that drives ripe lime and apple joined by a hint of quince through a citrus finish
Delicate notes of strawberry perfume the nose of this sparkling wine made with Pinot Noir and Malbec. It’s full of energy and has a fresh palate of ripe berry and pear flavors layered with hints of lime.
This wine takes time to develop in the glass and will benefit from time in the cellar, but it is always worth tasting a wine in its youth to understand it. This Barolo’s aromas meander out of the glass, swaying between crushed raspberry and macerated cherry, then amaro-like herbs, rosewood, cedar and baking spices. Firm and sturdy on the palate with tannins that mean business, the black cherry fruit sits at the core with wild thyme, licorice and leather holding court. Ensure to have a heart dish with this wine.
This dark garnet colored Cabernet Sauvignon based blend from Tenuta San Guido is a classic Italian styled wine. It opens with a musty cedar, cinnamon, and clove blend with hints of red cherry and menthol. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and supple. There is also some nice tension as well. The flavor profile is a cedar influenced tart cherry with notes of loam, black tea, and black olive. I also detected some hints of cinnamon stick, crispy bacon, and tobacco leaf towards the very end. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and managed moderate tannins are nicely sustained
A well-crafted, poised and textural blend of 40% grenache, 30% syrah, 15% mourvedre and 15% cinsault. Aromas of cherries, raspberries, strawberries and baking spices. Medium-bodied with fine tannins. It’s fruit-driven with a bright core of small red berries at the center. Spicy and vivid with good balance and a long, lively, flavorful finish. From organically grown grapes
