Michele Chiarlo featured at Barolo & Barbaresco World Opening

Join the Barolo & Barbaresco Consortium for the second World Opening Grand Tasting at the InterContinental Hotel in downtown Los Angeles on April 29, 2022.

More than 200 producers will be pouring their Barolo DOCG and Barbaresco DOCG appellations, including a selection of their renowned single-vineyard wines. Thanks to the combined effort of these producers, Barolo and Barbaresco wines will be presented to the U.S. market on a scale never seen before.

Barolo & Barbaresco wines are some of the most sought after wines around the world. Often called the “king and queen” of the Langhe region where they are made, Barolo & Barbaresco are produced from 100% Nebbiolo grapes. During the tasting, guests will have a unique occasion to learn more about the two iconic red wines of Piedmont and be able to feature the most recently released vintages of Barolo and Barbaresco, 2018 and 2019, respectively.

Wineries include: Marchesi di Barolo, Pio Cesare, Produttori del Barbaresco, Ceretto, and Vietti! Full list of participating producers can be found here.

In addition, the event will include cheeses of Fontina Valle d’Aosta PDO, and rice of Biella and Vercelli Barraggia PDO. Guests will have the chance to take a culinary journey to Italy, tasting Barolo and Barbaresco wines paired with Fontina PDO cheeses and risotto prepared with Baraggia rice. The Barolo & Barbaresco World Opening event is part of the European campaign “Top Tales: A piece of Europe on your table,” created to increase awareness of these three PDO products in the United States market.
