Grapes come from the finest vineyard sites in Napa Valley's best appellations, including Sequoia Grove and Tonella Estate vineyards in Rutherford (36%), and select parcels from top growers, including Stagecoach, Morisoli, Lamoreaux, Henry Brothers, Johnson Vineyard, Frediani Vineyard, Healy Vineyard, and Christian Vineyard. All fruit is hand sorted before a 1-2 day cold soak, then fermented in small batches, with pumpovers 2-3 times a day, and malolactic fermentation in barrel. The wine matured for 20 months in American oak barrels (40% new).

Harvest Note
Harvest 2015 was one of our earliest years on record. The persistent California drought and a cool spring during bloom led to low yields in the vineyard and an early bud break. Careful irrigation and canopy management were key, and allowed us and our growers to maximize quality and create beautifully ripe and balanced fruit. The wines resulting from the 2015 vintage are some of our favorite to date, the only unfortunate part being that yields were very low.
Tasting Note
On the nose this wine has notes of sweet vanilla, pepper and spice followed by blackberry, strawberry, and berry pie. On the palate the wine is round and full bodied with notes of red fruit and bright acidity. Age at least 10 years.
Food Pairing
Versatile with food, this wine pairs well with grilled red meats and vegetables, pork tenderloin and heavy cheeses.
