Montes Classic Series Malbec originates from the Apalta and El Arcángel del Marchigüe vineyards in the Colchagua Valley. Deep red with a violet hue, this wine portrays aromas of black and red berries with notes of prunes and crème de cassis. Due to being stored in French oak for 10 months, it also has hints of chocolate, jam and vanilla intertwined with the fruit.

Harvest Note
The 2019-2020 season saw a very dry winter, following the same pattern of previous years, The low availability of water explains a very significant drop in production yields impacting the final quality of the wines. Spring was free of significant frost in the Colchagua vineyards, so they experienced excellent growing conditions. Summer had high temperatures that accelerated the ripening processes of the grapes; for the Malbec winemakers began harvest unusually early, finishing the variety at the end of March, which was quite advanced compared to 2019. The low fruit charge in the vineyards meant that bunches had small grapes at harvest time, positively affecting the concentration of aromas, flavors, and color in the case of the red grapes, creating very high quality for processing. Both the Apalta and Marchigüe vineyards had timely and methodical harvests, decided as always by tasting the berries, which allowed winemakers to project positively how the resulting wines would be.
