Louis Jadot Chardonnay is vinified and blended from 100% Chardonnay grapes selected from quality growers in the Côte d'Or and the Côte Mâconnais. The wine is classified “Bourgogne Blanc” in appellation, but a proportion of superior village-level wines is added to optimize the quality of the final blend. This wine is made in a more full-bodied and structured style than Jadot’s other Chardonnays and partially aged in oak: 40% aged in oak for 8 months (30% new Oak barrels) – 60% in stainless steel.

2016 vintage
Harvest Note
Burgundy’s 2016 began with frost, resulting in smaller crops, but the smaller crop allowed for ripening well into September due to cool, dry, and sunny weather. While yields were low, excellent white wines were produced. The 2016 vintage is unfolding to be an amazing one.
Tasting Note
With an elegant pale color, this Bourgogne has a nose of medium intensity ripe red apple and pear with hints of pineapple combined with nuanced aromas of cedar and vanilla. On the palate, there’s an elevated intensity of pure citrus fruit, red apple and pear with hints of white peach and honey coming together with slight cedar and vanilla flavors resulting in a beautifully complicated wine.
