Grapes were gently whole-cluster pressed and transferred to tank following harvest. After a day of cold-settling, the juice was inoculated and racked to 25% new French and American oak barrels. It then underwent regular stirring of the lees for added texture and complexity. All lots were kept separate throughout vinification and aging to ensure character, distinctiveness and quality. After 17 months in barrel under cool cellar conditions, the wine was bottled.

Harvest Note
2014 was a prolific vintage of high quality fruit for the third straight year. A warm spring led to the earliest bud break we’ve had on record. Conditions remained ideal from bloom to set, leading to yields high in quantity and quality with the earliest harvest to date. The grape clusters in this vintage had a larger than average berry size that achieved optimal ripeness within a shortened time frame. The grapes were harvested from August 19 - October 10, 2014.
Tasting Note
The 2014 Chardonnay is a great representation of the world class Chardonnay of the Sta. Rita Hills AVA. Aromatics of clover honey, toasted vanilla, citrus, and floral notes are accompanied by a palate of classic, lean acidity with pops of fresh lemon and pineapple. This wine finishes with nuances of delicate oak and roasted hazelnut.
Food Pairing
Perfect paired with clam chowder or Chicken Dijon, this Chardonnay's combination of structure and concentration helps it stand up to a wide array of dishes, including poultry and rich fish and seafood, like crispy crab cakes garnished with green onion.
