This rosé finds its roots in Prieuré de Montézargues, place already famous for its Tavel wine. The history of the Prieuré comes from 12th century when monks from the Abbey of Grammont come to settle there. With sandy soils and a perfect balanced grapes production, this first vintage made by the team of Château La Nerthe has imposed itself by its originality and its greed. Crafted from 30+ year old vineyards planted in soils rich with calcareous sandstone and positioned on gently undulating slopes for optimal sun expo-sure.

Harvest Note
In 2018, the climate in the Southern Rhône created conditions that ensured good quality in our grapes despite lower than average yields. In January, there was significant rainfall following a very long drought in 2017. The spring was atypical with mild temperatures and a lot of rain which slowed the early development of our grape clusters. As a result, disease pressure and mildew had to be combatted in the vineyards. Throughout the summer growing season dry and warm conditions allowed grape development to catch up following the rainy spring. After careful selection, the resulting rosé is very aromatic with even more fruity characteristics than usual.
Tasting Note
This pale pink rosé has a lot of tangerine, floral nuances and fresh zesty characters to offer. The mouth is round and seamless on the palate. The finish has a very good vivacity and lead to a very fruity, juicy and energetic cut.

About the Grape

Ripe and meaty over elegant, with rose and almond notes, Cinsault’s relatively low tannins typically relegate it to blends with other varieties, as with Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Tavel Rosé.
Grenache is loaded with dense, lusty aromas and flavors of black cherry, blackcurrant, jam, pepper and licorice, with a palate-coating texture and high alcohol.
Mourvèdre makes big, meaty, rustic wines high in alcohol, acidity and tannin, with moderate black fruit characters. Shows aromas and flavors of wild Provençal herbs, leather, mushrooms and barnyard.
Grenache Blanc
This grape can produce an attractive, fleshy, generously fruity wine with a fragrance of flowers and dill.
