The fruit comes from the hilly provinces of Arezzo and Siena in the Chianti region of Tuscany, grown in layers of clay, lime and schist. After handpicking, grapes are brought to the winery for a traditional vinification that includes pumping over at least four times a day. Thirty percent is aged in 793 - 1321 gallon oak vats prior to bottling.

Harvest Note
Even in Tuscany, summer 2014 was cooler compared to the average of the last 10 years. This condition resulted in wines slightly less “Mediterranean” with slightly higher acid and fresh and highly floral aromas.
Tasting Note
Ruby red with violet hues. Notes of red berries and black fruit as well as floral notes of violet and spice. In the mouth, the wine is balanced with tannins, structure and a long, elegant finish.
