The Bolgheri DOC, on the western edge of Tuscany bordering the Tirrhenian sea, came to the world’s attention in the 1990s for its quality. The area’s exceptional climate is moderated by sea breezes, which impart a crispness and freshness to the wine, while the clay and sand soils allow white varieties like Vermentino to reach great heights of quality. Grapes come from densely planted vineyards that slope toward the sea in Bolgheri, Suvereto and Alta Maremma, and low yields produce wines with concentration and complexity. The Vermentino ferments in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures and then rests on the lees. The winemaker avoids malolactic fermentation to preserve the wine’s fresh, crisp fruit character and vibrant acidity.

Harvest Note
The 2022 vintage was characterized by a prolonged dry period from June until the end of September. However, the particularly rainy winter helped to significantly increase the water reserves of the deep soils that distinguish the area, providing the vines with the right support throughout the production phase. Spring, basically cool, favored a slight delay in budding and subsequent flowering. Summer temperatures have never been excessive, allowing for a slow and regular ripening of the grapes in each vineyard with excellent levels of integrity and health.

This wine has complex aromas of tropical fruit with herbal notes. It has a clean, fresh character on the palate and is easy to drink.
Food Pairing
Pairs well with fish, shellfish and chicken
