The Barrel Select Line expresses both the fruit attributes, such as freshness and sweetness, along with the smoky influences of oak, which add to the wine’s complexity. This is accomplished by aging a portion of the wine in French oak barrels and then blending with wines aged in stainless steel. As a result, a delicate balance between fruit and oak is obtained, in which the scents and flavors of each blend are combined with the oak’s toasted notes. 50% of this Red Blend is aged in French oak barrels before blending.

Harvest Note
The 2017 growing season in Mendoza featured very low yields but very good quality from the grapes that were harvested. The season began with a very cool spring which brought some frosts in September and October. January brought considerably warmer temperatures before returning to historically average temperatures in February and March. The dry summer growing season brought optimal ripeness to the red varietals, which were harvested from early March to mid-April. The wines show good balance between maturity, ripeness, and acidity.
Tasting Note
This wine is characterized by its elegant balance between fruit and oak. On the nose, notes of dark berries and plums mix with warm spices and cedar. On the palate, the wine is full bodied and luscious, with a firm structure and delicate finish.

Excellent pairing for dry-aged ribeye steaks, roasted leg of lamb, or pork osso buco.
