Alta Vista’s iconic wine, represents the benchmark among Argentine wines, crafted from the highest quality grapes from small vineyard parcels with low yields. Hand-picked grapes go through a double selection process on a sorting table. Alto is vinified in small, epoxy-lined concrete tanks which allow a gentle, precise vinification and extraction of polyphenols to produce an elegant wine. It is aged 14 months in new French oak barrels and at least 12 months in bottle.

Harvest Note
In Mendoza, the 2011 vintage was characterized by near-perfect growing conditions with high daytime temperatures, average thermal amplitude and cool nights with low temperatures. The grape clusters were hand-picked and transported in 17kgs boxes. Clusters were carefully set on a triple selection table, where only the best berries and clusters were chosen. After destemming, the grapes are transferred to 52-hectoliter cement tanks. A pre-fermentation maceration was done for 3 days at 41ºF. Alcoholic fermentation then followed with natural yeasts for 8-10 days with regular manual pigeages. Vinification finished with a long extended maceration process to achieve a richer color and tannins from the skins..
Food Pairing
Deep ruby-colored wine with complex aromas reminiscent of black fruits, such as blackberries, spices and chocolate. In the mouth, elegant and open with silky tannins and long intense persistency. It is recommended to decant it before drinking it cold, between 61ºF and 64ºF. Cellar time over 10 years
