Meursault is the center of four communes that make up the Côte des Blancs, named for the predominantly white wines produced there. The vineyards lie on gentle slopes at 230 meters to 360 meters in elevation, with eastern exposure and chalky soil with white marl. This Premier Cru vineyard is 48 years old and produces small, very concentrated berries. The Chardonnay grapes are fermented in tanks for up to 4 weeks, and then the wine is matured in oak barrels for 12 to 15 months.
This wine is rich yet delicate, and aromatic in its youth. It will develop in the bottle for 8 to 15 years.
