Chassagne-Montrachet is one of the five villages of the Côte de Blancs. Premier Cru vineyards face east and southeast, and the Chardonnay grapes are grown in soils of brown clay and limestone. Grandes Ruchottes is located in the southern part of the commune, on high land. The Chardonnay grapes are fermented in oak barrels, and then the wine is matured for about 12 months in barrel before bottling.
This unique wine is full-bodied with powerful aromas and flavors of almonds, apple, white flowers and honey. It will develop in the bottle for at least 10 years.
