Découverte Vineyard Pinot Noir 2014
/ Dundee Hills AVA
Grapes: 100% Pinot Noir
Meaning "Discovery" in French and produced from the second Estate Vineyard owned by Résonance, the Découverte Vineyard Pinot Noir displays the best of the Dundee Hills AVA. Elegant yet structured, the wine is complex on the nose and palate with classic Pinot Noir aromas and flavors and a long finish.
Overall, 2014 was a fantastic vintage, as the wines are soft, full of flavor, and very bright! Harvest began on September 12th, and finished by the 20th. It was a wonderful year but encountered a small challenge of high temperatures. Due to the lack of cooler weather, yields were a bit higher but were actively managed. Without these, the yields would have been too high, and an amazing vintage would have turned into one to forget.
Deep Pinot Noir aromas of red fruit and wood highlight the nose, while the palate is delicate and long with balanced fruit and tannins.
Pairs well with lightly seasoned red meats, chicken, turkey, lamb and root vegetables.

about the grape +
In France, makes a silky, deceptively powerful wine of elegant, complex aromas and subtle, red fruit flavors, with earthy, floral, mushroom and mineral notes. In California, shows ripe, sweet characters.
