Katie Griesbeck joined the Cakebread Cellars team in 2017 as the National Sales and Marketing Director. Katie brings more than 15 years of marketing experience and a deep passion for wine to the team. Originally born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Katie has since called many areas of the country home. After earning her undergraduate degree in Communication at Wake Forest University in North Carolina, Katie moved to Washington, DC where she worked in public relations for the technology industry, including America Online where she even held the title of AOL Sommelier, providing wine and food pairing recommendations to newspapers and radio stations across the country. It was this love of wine, first discovered during her studies abroad in the Burgundy region of France, that led Katie back to graduate school to hone her business and marketing skills before entering the wine industry full-time.
Upon graduating from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business with her MBA, Katie joined E&J Gallo Winery in Modesto, California where she helped build such wine brands as Barefoot Wine & Bubbly and Apothic, as well as helped expand Gallo’s portfolio of spirits brands. After seven years at Gallo, Katie joined Constellation Brands in San Francisco as Innovation Marketing Manager, launching new-to-world brands and leading all sales and marketing strategy. Katie holds several wine and spirits certifications, including WSET II, Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) and Certified Specialist of Spirits (CSS).
Katie enjoys exploring all that the Golden State has to offer, from coast to mountains and all cultural adventures in between. True to her Memphis roots, she’s an avid music fan and loves to attend concerts and collect vinyl records of all genres. Her go-to favorite wine is Cakebread Two Creeks Pinot Noir.
