The vineyards that produce the grapes for Montes Alpha Pinot Noir are located in the Casablanca, Zapallar, and Leyda Valleys, all located in the Aconcagua Coast wine region. All of the vineyards are trained to vertical shoot position and drip irrigated, and yields range from 6,245 to 7,137 lb/acre. Because vines have an excellent vegetative / productive balance, it is not necessary to adjust the load and canopy work is minimal. This also allows us to harvest healthy grapes with good balance

Harvest Note
This season was characterized by a winter with very low levels of precipitation across all the winemaking regions of Chile. The Aconcagua Valley was no exception, with scarce availability of water for irrigation (about 6 inches during the season), so winemakers had to work diligently on the vigor of the plants as well as their fruit yields, which was very important in order to reach the required ripeness indicators at harvest. Spring saw no frost of significance in the vineyards, and the summer was cool, as is the norm. Ripening was rather slow, which allowed winemakers to conduct the harvest in a methodical and successful manner, with extremely detailed selection of sectors according to their levels of ripeness and flavor.
Tasting Note
Notes of fresh black and blue berries followed by sweet spices such as nutmeg and cinnamon with a subtle floral aroma of violet.
Food Pairing
Pairs well with pesto pasta, mild creamy soups, salmon, mushroom risotto, Camembert cheese, salad or bruschetta
