In the hot, sandy terrain of Noto, this French variety seems to take on a Sicilian personality in the briny black-olive tones that weave through the wine’s dark plum flavors. The wine rested for 16 months in barriques, gaining notes of dark chocolate and spice, and rounding out the meaty tannins. A match for lamb chops.
