Lush and festive, with crisp strawberry and apple flavors, this features gingerbread and spice notes that roll along the vibrant finish.
Plush and round, offering sumptuous cherry and pear flavors laced with crème brûlée and roasted nuts, this builds richness to the rich finish
This delightful Tuscan red blend is a deep purple color, with an assertive bouquet of black currant, bay leaf, strawberry, black raspberry, anise, and forest floor aromas. On the palate it is concentrated and very smooth. It is also medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. It displays nice complexity and good balance. There are flavors of black cherry, black plum, cracked black pepper, graphite, and gentle oak with notes of bramble and saline. It closes with big sticky tannins, in a dry, slightly astringent long finish. I recommend a 30 minute decant to settle things down
Pouring forth from a heavy glass bottle, the Tenuta Sette Ponti 2019 Valdarno di Sopra Vigna dell’Impero is 100% Sangiovese aged in large oak barrels for 24 months before going into bottle for 12 months. Fruit comes from a three-hectare vineyard that is entirely terraced by hand and surrounded by forests. The wine shows medium-dark concentration with aromas of dark cherry, dried herb and earth. You also get toasted spice, and ultimately, this vintage is ready to drink now (and for not that much longer) with an open-knit, immediate personality.
The organic Tenuta Sette Ponti 2020 Sette is all Merlot from a vintage that saw rain toward the end of the season. The fruit is sourced from seven separate parcels and was harvested in early September with a careful berry selection process. The results are thick and sticky with blackberry preserves, spice, cinnamon and exotic spice. The wine offers a concentrated, full-bodied mouthfeel with a powerful 15% alcohol content. It’s big and generous, almost to a fault.
