Beginning in 2000, Loïc became Head of Cellars at Champagne Taittinger, which is the position he remains in today.
Head of Cellars
Loïc Dupont was born in 1954 in Reims. He is married and the father of 3 daughters. Following his military service in the Air Force, Loïc attended the College of Science at the University of Reims where he received his National Diploma of Oenology in 1975.
Between 1978 and 1979, Loïc was the Production Manager at Saint BUR (sparkling wine factory) in Voulpaix, France. Between 1979 and 1983 he lived in Abidjan (Ivory Coast) and managed the sparkling wine sector at SICODS (Castel Frères Group) where he founded and launched the factory and production.
In 1984, Loïc returned to France and joined Champagne Taittinger as the Oenologist. He proceeded to take over quality control in 1985. From 1987 to 1992, he actively contributed to the launch of Domaine Carneros (the winery created by Champagne Taittinger and Kobrand in Napa Valley) as the oenological adviser. Beginning in 2000, Loïc became Head of Cellars at Champagne Taittinger, which is the position he remains in today. His hobbies are mainly cycling (cyclotourism) and motorcycling.
