Within the Mâcon-Villages area, the Mâcon-Azé appellation is 1,250 acres in size, located around the village of Azé. Jadot parcels produce the highest-quality fruit of the harvest. The limestone subsoil of the nearby Monts du Mâconnais imparts the minerality, floral complexity and finesse which are ideal for Chardonnay grapes. Mâcon-Azé is vinified in stainless steel tanks to retain the floral, fruity aromas and fresh character that are typical of this region.

harvest note

The winter of 2009–10 was very cold in the Mâconnais, although the frozen soil collected good water reserves. Spring weather was uneven, resulting in fewer berries than usual after a June flowering. Throughout July and August the fruit developed slowly but in good conditions.

tasting note

With a pale yellow-gold color and green tints near the edge, this wine is lively, charming, crisp and easy to drink. This dry wine shows lemon, grass and floral aromas, which become fruity flavors on the palate, with clean minerality and a note of acidity.

A wide range of foods, including poultry, fried or grilled fish, shellfish, seafood, goat’s milk cheese and hors d’oeuvres.
