Pouilly-Fuissé 2015

Region: France / Burgundy / Poully-Fuissé
Grapes: 100% Chardonnay

In southern Burgundy, at the northern border of Beaujolais, lies the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation. At the top of the hierarchy of Mâconnais wines, this area is in the heart of the great appellations that produce white wines: Fuissé, Pouilly-Loché, Pouilly-Vinzelles and Saint-Véran. The judicious, subtle use of oak allows Louis Jadot’s Pouilly-Fuissé to retain its complexity and structure.

harvest note

Burgundy’s 2015 began with a mild, wet winter and spring, for what turned out to be a hot, dry summer. The rain that did fall in summer was uneven and the dry temperatures temporarily stopped grapes from ripening. While yields were low, excellent white wines were produced. The 2015 vintage is set to be a great one.

tasting note

Emerald-gold tones visually suggest a wine of finesse and distinction. With aromas of hazelnuts, toasted almonds, grapefruit and lemon, the wine has palate flavors that are harmonious, fresh and full.

food pairing

Pairs with shellfish, fish and poultry.
