Chambolle-Musigny

Region: France / Burgundy / Côte de Nuits Villages

Fruit for this wine is drawn from the commune of Chambolle-Musigny, in which there are 24 Premiers Crus and 2 Grands Crus. The fine structure of Chambolle wines is influenced by the region’s chalky, gravel and pebble soil. The Pinot Noir grapes for this wine are fermented in vats for up to one month, and then the wine is aged 12 to 15 months in oak barrels.

tasting note

This deeply colored wine is redolent of red berries and is full-bodied yet delicate with a silky finish—unique characteristics imparted by the soil of Chambolle-Musigny. The wine develops aromas of undergrowth when older. It will develop in the bottle for 10 to 12 years.

food pairing

Pair with delicate dishes that are not too spicy, including red meat in sauces, game and medium-strong cheeses.
