One of the eight Grands Crus of Gevrey-Chambertin, Griotte lies next to Chapelle-Chambertin in the southern part of the commune. The Pinot Noir grapes are fermented in vats for up to 4 weeks, and then the wine is matured for 18 to 20 months in oak barrels. The word griotte means morello cherry.

This aromatic and energetic wine has aromas of sour cherries and licorice notes. Its bold tannic structure will help it develop well in bottle for 20 years or more.
