Montessu Isola dei Nuraghi IGT play
Region:
Italy
/ Sardinia
Carignano, of Spanish origin and the blend’s predominant grape, has found its perfect terroir in the warm, well-exposed Sardinian terrain. The grapes come from vines grown in the Basso Sulcis region on calcareous clay and sand soil. Hand harvested whole bunches are destemmed, crushed and macerated on the skins for several days prior to fermentation in stainless steel vats. The wine is oak aged before blending and bottle aging.

about the grape +
-
Carignan
Carignan has an alluring blend of violet, spice, wild herb, red and black currant, and forest floor characters. Its assertive acidity and rustic gamey characters are great blending elements.
-

Beside having all the characteristics of a great terroir the south west corner of Sardinia where Barrua and Narcao are located, has a great quality of light which makes the maturations of the grapes perfect and very complex.
