June 1st, 2017 (Purchase, NY) — Kobrand Corporation, a leading wine and spirits importer with a distinguished portfolio of hand-selected brands from around the world, is proud to announce the addition of the renowned Château La Nerthe to its fine French wine portfolio. This addition, effective June 1st 2017, allows Kobrand to complement its premium wine offerings with one of the oldest and most emblematic Châteauneuf-du-Pape producers. Kobrand is proud to represent the excellent wines from Château La Nerthe and is responsible for sales and marketing activities in the United States.
Wine grapes have grown at La Nerthe estate for centuries, in the care of different families, each aiming at keeping the estate in one piece. The story began with the Tulle de Villefranche family, who purchased a farm building in 1560 and spent the next 317 years building the domain in size and reputation, shipping their wines all over Europe and America. Since 1985, the Richard Family has been farming the 225 acres, an all-contiguous plot surrounding the Château, and certified organic (AB Label) per the very strict French standards since 1998. The noble terroir featuring sloped vineyards, soils of sandy-clay with the typical “galets roulés” and vines averaging over forty years of age contribute to the making of exceptional wines, synonymous with elegance, the best Châteauneuf-du-Pape has to offer.
